Love stories work only when they connect, and any love story will relate only when the on-screen chemistry between the hero and heroine is visible. Tholi Prema covers that aspect neatly with Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna working together like a charm.
The chemistry aspect is the essential requirement. It enables an instant connect, and makes one overcome some other elements. The important ones are the writing, characters and set up in that order. Tholi Prema is sufficient in writing. It gives a neat picture of the world and the lead characters persona within the world. Could it have been better, yes for sure, but for now this will do. And finally, regarding the memorable characters, Tholi Prema falls short in that department. It is too cool in the end for its own good.
Musically SS Thaman has done incredible work again after the recent Bhaagamathie. The songs and the background score are essential for the final output to register and he delivers. The cinematography by George C Williams is excellent. The editing is smooth. The production values are fabulous.
It is a film where the performances of lead will be noticed, and both Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna will be appreciated. They have done a superb job.
The final conclusion: A Tholi Prema For New Entitled Generation
Trade Talk: The openings for the film are good in the A centers. If the talk improves in the coming days and with a holiday ahead, Tholi Prema would have a chance to be a success.
