Viswaroopam first part was not a commercial hit, but it was appreciated for its writing and making. Kamal Haasan was admired by critics for his technical brilliance in the first part. The movie was left open-ended because he had planned to make a sequel to Viswaroopam.
Wizam aka Vishwanath (Kamal Haasan) was a RAW agent who once worked with a terrorist Omar Qureshi (Rahul Bose) and his gang in Afghanistan. He used to leak the information to Indians and British army. They attacked the terrorist and destroyed them. When Omar Qureshi comes to know of the betrayal he decides to take revenge on Wizam.
1.It simply can be called as Kamal Haasan’s Viswaroopam. He was very subtle throughout. He excellently emoted in some scenes.
2.Pooja Kumar and Andrea were good.
3.Music is good, but the background score was superb. Cinematography is neat
4.The first half is very well written without any lag. The integration of comedy into the narrative without disturbing the overall flow, even during the tense moments was neatly done.
What’s not good:
1. Second half.
2. Some scenes diverged from the main plot.
V2 is a good thriller with International political issues. But compared to the first part this movie would be a let-down in terms of suspense and writing too.
SWOT ANALYSIS is here:
After 5 and half years Kamal Hassan is coming up with his sequel to the most acclaimed Viswaroopam movie. There are a lot of expectations as well as controversy on this movie So let’s do the SWOT analysis to V2.
There is no doubt that the main strength of this project is Kamal Haasan itself. He self-directed it and acted. He ended the first part without killing the primary villain and kept the suspense and thrill alive to these many years. So it will be a triggering point to the curiosity to watch the film.
The genre of the film is not universally liked to ensure a mass success. There is an attempt to make the sequel massier but that could turn out to be a weakness for those who enjoyed the first part.
There are a lot of chances for this movie to stand as the highest grosser of Kamal Haasan ever and also it has the capabilities to be in the top 5 grossers of Tamil Cinema.
As Kamal Haasan has established a political outfit, success here would be a big boost to the senior star. Also, he could show one-upmanship over Rajinikanth whose last film was a disaster.
Srinivasa Kalyanam is going to be no threat, but it has blocked screens for the weekend. Following it, there will be Geetha Govindam which again comes from good distribution backing, meaning lack of theatres for Vishwaroopam 2 again.
