At the beginning of the month, Sai Dharam Tej’s new film Tej I Love You had released. The movie has bitten the dust at the box office, and with it, the Supreme Hero has scored a rare double hat-trick disaster feat in the current generation.
However, still being from the Mega family, he has got a couple of projects in the kitty. There is a film with Kishore Tirumala on Mythri Movies banner, and another one is supposed to be with Gopichand Malineni.
Both the films on paper are weak considering the previous projects of the directors. They are known to bring some fresh elements to an old story which could work in SDT’s favour if his time is right. And therein lies the problem, trusting on time rather than the script.
The idea of doing a Jawaan and Tej I Love You was right, but the presentation was faulty. The way to move forward would be to trust filmmakers who are good at execution be it new or old and retain the ‘fresh’ subject idea. Also, a complete makeover in terms of looks would be an added advantage. And finally, take a break and chill and come back with renewed energy losing all the jadedness.
All of this is easier said than done. But that is the only way forward. It is a crucial period, and the next film has to be a genuine success, otherwise, Sai Dharam Tej would be entering a territory from where there will be no return to being “Supreme” ever.
