Yuvan Shankar Raja is among the topmost music directors in South India without any doubt. The music director was expected to make Bollywood debut long ago but it did not materialize back then for one reason or the other. Few years ago he provided a single for a film called Striker but it sank without a trace.
Finally after many years he got a biggie Raja Natwarlal starring none other than Emraan Hashmi. Many thought of it as a dream combination since the actor is known to have chartbuster songs in his films. The trailer further raised the expectations but the album which released recently left many fans of the music director cold in disappointment. We are not even going to the Emraan Hashmi fan zone. Barring a song nothing else has registered the way it was expected to.
The worst part here is that some of his contemporary music directors like Harris Jayaraj, Devi Sree Prasad have made a mark nationally with their respective debut albums and singles. With the kind of music he has given in the past many expected Yuvan to give them a run for their money but sadly it’s exactly the reverse that has happened here. Some of his recent Southern albums too have been not that satisfying either. Which leads us to a question, has Yuvan Shankar Raja lost the mojo? What do you think?
